A Historic Debut

Virtual Taekwondo (VTKD) made its historic debut at the Asian Games on 2 October 2026.
Held at Toyohashi Gymnasium as part of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Games, the mixed individual VTKD event marked a landmark moment for the sport, bringing together top athletes from across the continent on one of Asia’s biggest sporting stages. A total of 16 athletes competed in the event, contested without the traditional weight-category divisions seen in other taekwondo disciplines.
