1. Overview
The network is at the center of technology communication and links all the different technologies used on the play area.
Network quality is important to ensure good and stable communication between the PCs (Game Master and Spectator) and VR Headsets.

2. Router Specifications
Each play area should have a dedicated router with the following specifications or higher:
- Wi-Fi Standard: Wi-Fi 6
- Minimum Speeds:
- 5 GHz: 1801 Mbps
- 2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps
- Frequency Bands: Dual band (5GHz and 2.4 GHz)
- Ports:
- 1 x WAN Port
- 4 x LAN Ports
3. Router Placement
- Place routers close to the respective fields of play.
- Do not place routers directly on the floor; elevate them on a table of stand when possible.
- Avoid placing routers too close to one another to minimise wireless interference.
- Ensure routers are not blocked by large objects or structures
4. Wi-Fi Analysis
Wi-Fi analysis of your location can be done using a mobile device (Android only).
The recommended mobile application is WiFiMan.

5. Router Configuration
Each router should be configured as follows –
- Each network must have a unique SSID and be properly separated and isolated from other networks to ensure optimal performance and effective network segmentation.
- To transmit a 5 GHz signal ONLY.
- Channel width set to 20 MHz.
- 5 GHz channel set to any unused channel.

2.4 GHz WiFi Channel Allocation Guidelines
The AXIS motion tracking system uses 2.4 GHz wireless communication between the motion tracking nodes and the receiver. To ensure stable and reliable performance, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi usage within the location must be managed carefully.
AXIS performs best when operating on a non-overlapping channel (i.e. channel 1, 6 or 11) with minimal interference.
The maximum recommended number of AXIS motion trackers per channel is 10, which is sufficient to support two players (red and blue) within a single play area.

Preferred (Best-Case) Configuration
- Each competition court should be assigned a dedicated, non-overlapping 2.4 GHz channel for AXIS communication.
- Example:
- 2 play areas → 2 dedicated non-overlapping channels.
- Play area 1 – Channel 1
- Play area 2 – Channel 6
- 2 play areas → 2 dedicated non-overlapping channels.
Limited Channel Availability Scenario
- If only one non-overlapping channel can be reserved for AXIS:
- The channel should be dedicated exclusively to AXIS devices.
- Usage on other non-overlapping channels should be minimised (ideally below 30% utilisation).
- Overlapping channels should be avoided.
6. Internet Connectivity
- Each router should provide an internet connection via a hybrid network – wired (LAN) and wireless.
- Internet speed of 25 Mbps or higher.
